Tuesday's Tangle

I can honestly say I don't know which part of this weekly challenge was more difficult for me. Actually drawing the zentangle/zendoodle entirely with my non-dominant  left hand  (only created to hold my wedding band and keep me from looking funny) or posting the result here for all to see. Hmmm, that is a tough one. I chatted with my favorite artist, and she even agreed. It would be really hard to do mostly because of being a perfectionist. That part was really hard to over come. I had no idea it was so deeply ingrained in my psyche. I told my son about this challenge and he took great pleasure in explaining that if is wasn't difficult, it wouldn't be a challenge.
So I am going to rise to the challenge. I have drawn  and colored entirely with my left hand and the only thing left to do is to close my eyes and post it before my brain figures out what I am doing and brings my right  hand to a screeching halt.

Congratulations Campbell Jane! 

I have talked many times before about my Favorite Artist, Campbell Jane . Well, tonight she is having a gallery opening at the City of Fremont Olive Hyde Gallery in Fremont. I absolutely have to be her biggest fan and I just love the paintings and art work that she does.  Here are a  few of my favorite pieces that she has done. I hope you enjoy them too.

To be honest, I could probably list everything ( almost) she paints, but what would be the fun in that. If you would like to see more though, Her blog is Folk Art by Campbell Jane and her work is for sale in her Etsy shop. Sometimes I go see what she is painting or making just to get myself motivated to renounce laziness. Not really, but I do wonder sometimes if I could keep up with her if given a chance.
Stop by her blog and shop whenever you can, you are sure to find something that sparks your interest, or just slams your funny bone.

Have You Seen....

One of my favorite artists of all time has opened a new Etsy shop called Shenanagans. And she sent me some of the beads she has been making so that I can make some things too. Campbell Jane paints the most wonderful Angels and mermaids, and now she is doing all kinds of things crochet, bead making, who knows what else she may be doing. I've made some earrings with the beads she sent me, and I still have enough to make several more things. I love them. The colors she used are awesome.

I accented the beads with little blue agate faceted rounds and a forged spiral swirl. They are lightweight and comfortable and have just the right combination of colors. It was so sweet of her to send me beads that she made.

 I also made this pair of earrings. The colors don't show up as well in this photo, but it is only because I need a new camera phone. LOL Campbell Jane, keep making those beads! I can probably keep you in business for a little while.
